Birkrigg Common

The Common is crisscrossed by footpaths leading through the heather, ferns and pasture offering stunning views of the Lakeland fells to the north and the coastal landscape of Morecambe Bay to the east and south.

Roa Island & Piel Island Castle

Access to the island is by ferry, which runs every weekend from Roa Island throughout the summer, starting at Easter time and ending in early autumn
